MediaWiki is free software that powers Wikipedia, which is a massive online encyclopedia. It makes it easy to organize information in a safe and secure way. It’s easy for employees and users to browse a Wiki and submit changes.
Wikis are great for storing policies, procedures, and other content that will change over time. MediaWiki has detailed history of all the changes made, so you always know what happened. You can create Private Wikis for things like internal projects, specifications, and other collaborative efforts. Here are some articles that may be of interest:

How much do you charge?
We offer a standard MedaWiki setup with custom skin, data migration, and an entry-level usage training for up to 5 employees for $125. You’ll have your data nicely categorized and linked together and have the ability to expand the information in the future without having to contact a developer. As the Wikimedia Foundation and the public community continues to improve the MediaWiki software you’ll benefit without having to buy a new version or license.
What is the license?
MediaWiki is licensed under the General Public License. If we make changes directly to the software, such as fixing a bug, we will release those changes to the public. Your content and graphics are still under whatever license you want. If you want to make changes to how MediaWiki works, like adding new core features, those must also be released under the GPL license.
How is MediaWiki a Service?
MediaWiki is not a service, but adopting it to suite your needs is. We use MediaWiki to avoid creating a new software, since it’s a mature product that has been tested and works well. We didn’t develop MedaWiki, the Wikimedia Foundation did. We may contribute source code to their project, write a plugin, or make a custom skin, but we’re simply being paid for the service of adopting MediaWiki to your needs.
