About

I’m a Web Developer and Software Engineer from Oregon. I’ve authored Open Source and proprietary softwares, and began development at the age of 12 in 1998 when I got my first computer. I got involved in programming and began networking with others, which led me to acquire web development skills.

Most of the software I write is licensed under the GPL, LGPL, or BSD-like licenses. Anyone is welcome to view my source code, which is available at http://bzr.santiance.com. You can contribute changes either through Launchpad or by e-mailing me a patch at kristopher.ives@gmail.com.

I currently work at Gearbox Studios. You can reach me at kristopher.ives@gearboxstudios.com if you have a project that demands my skills. Don’t e-mail my work for unrelated free/open source projects.

Liberty

I believe involvement in the political process is key to sustaining personal liberty, and support causes that reinforce this. I am non-partisan and have worked for Democrats and Republicans in the past. People who know my views and reasoning behind them have labeled Libertarian. In my lifetime I hope to destroy the culture of dependence that exists in America today.

Personal

In my spare time with friends I enjoy all elements of theory and deducing the world from the evidence available.

I enjoy playing Basketball, because it’s like a lottery of Physics for me.

Until recently I could eat as much as I wanted and never gain weight.

I’ve always enjoyed video games that have interesting dynamics of competition, but either I’m getting too old for them or they are losing interesting dynamics.

My musical tastes are difficult to label, and most of the time I can only enjoy a small portion of a band or artist’s collection. I review music and movies on my blog sometimes, usually when I regret wasting the time to see or hear it.
